This is just to introduce myself and my website! I’m Ian, am 39, and live in Brighton, Massachusetts. I’m totally blind, and have been since birth. However, that has not slowed me down one bit.

This website contains a blog that talks about my previous and current life experiences, as well as consulting services that I am able to provide.

I have been involved in a variety of organizations, and I do a variety of activities as well. Some of my favorite activities include traveling to different cities, eating out at the area’s best restaurants, exploring around random places, hearing live music, and doing activities with friends. You can read about some of my adventures on my blog.

My professional goal is to work in an accessibility role of an organization. In order to reach this goal, I attended college at Keene State College in Keene, NH and got my BA in English.

After that, I did an internship at the Institute for Human Centered Design in Boston, acting as a policy analyst. Specifically, I researched different public transportation systems throughout the world, and compared and contrasted their accessibility.

I attended the University of New Hampshire for two years, and took some courses in their Public Administration graduate program. During that, in the summer of 2010, I did an internship at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, participating in their internal monitoring program, as well as read through complaints to see if any patterns about accessibility existed. Because of this internship, I was on the board of directors of the MBTA’s Access Advisory Committee from 2012-2016. During that experience, I assisted them to become more accessible for people with disabilities. From 2013-2015, I attended UMass Boston, and received my master’s in Public Administration in 2015. Currently, I am working at a bank in Boston, assisting them in improving their website for users that use screen readers. View my résumé.
